Bible Truths

Because our God is Truth, He values Truth to the extent of bringing crucial insight concerning this issue.  Below are only a few of the many passages in His Word that address this topic of "Truth" and "wisdom."  Notice how many of them bring stark contrast between God's Truths/Wisdom and the truths/wisdom of man.

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, not sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.  He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper."  Psalm 1:1-3 (NKJV)

"Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. ... Oh, how I love Your law!  It is my meditation all the day.  You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies; for they are ever with me.  I have more understanding than all my teachers, for Your testimonies are my meditation.  I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Your precepts. ... The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever."  Psalm 119:89,97-100,160 (NKJV)

I Corinthians chapters 1 - 3 bring another awesome contrast between God's wisdom and the wisdom    of man.  As you read beginning from 1:18 through the entire third chapter, note the purpose God highlights as to the "why" this insight is disclosed (1:29;3:21).  It is the one who obeys the Word that brings both wisdom and joy in proper context - this wisdom is transcendent to our many limitations.  This wisdom is God's and is available to anyone who would humbly receive it and obey its counsel.       (See Nehemiah 8 & 9, Matthew 7:24 and James 1:22 for further details)

If you contemplate the following illustration, be sitting down as you do so - it's that mind-boggling!
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-11 - illustration emphasized in bold (NKJV)

"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and to joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."  (Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)

But why, in part, is the Word of God under such attack today?
